What is the difference between Annual Network Licensing and Single Licensing?

The Annual Network License is a subscription, requiring annual fee to have use of the software, allowing users to gain access to Step Ahead from any computer on the network on which the software is installed. The Single License is a one-time fee authorizing one person to use Step Ahead on one machine, such as a desktop computer. This license offers technical support and updates for a limited time and is not renewable nor eligible to receive free upgrades.

Do I need a Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) with an Annual Network License?

All upgrades, and support are included in the annual subscription fee, an additional SMA is not required.

If I don't purchase a SMA for my Single License, what are my options for upgrades and support?

If your SMA has expired, you have the option to purchase an Upgrade. The Upgrade provides upgrades and SMA for one year. You are eligible before the one year ends to purchase a SMA for continued support and upgrades.

What is Add Floating?

This is a one time fee to convert a Single License to Floating. Floating allows the user to have a version of Step Ahead installed on more than one computer, and allows the key to be moved to a new computer without requiring license deactivation from the original computer. The floating option is an excellent choice for users that use a desktop and laptop computer.

from your measurement device - including CMMs, Vision, Video and White Light Systems.

Data import available for most measurement devices. Supported formats include CSV, Excel, Text, XML.
